  1. ABOUT IRC/2
  2.  
  3. Thank you for evaluating IRC/2 from Innovative Logic Corp, a shareware OS/2 
  4. multi-threaded client for Internet Relay Chat.  
  5.  
  6. Please refer to the IRC2.INF file for help on using IRC/2 as well as basic 
  7. information about Internet Relay Chat.  In addition, we have included several 
  8. other primers and FAQ files on the use of irc.  These documents can answer 
  9. many of your other questions.

  12. INSTALLING IRC/2
  13.  
  14. After unzipping the distribution file, run INSTALL.CMD or INSTEXE.CMD if you 
  15. have not already done so. This install procedure does the following:
  16.   1. Deletes the help, script, docs, and translation sub-directories if they
  17.      already exist.
  18.   2. Unzips the distribution zip file, and help files.
  19.   3. Unzips extra help files if you are installing on HPFS.
  20.   4. Cleans up after itself.
  21.   5. Runs setup.exe if necessary to configure your irc session.
  22. You may interrupt the install process if you wish to preserve files in the
  23. directories that will be deleted.  The files ircserv.txt, ircrc, and irc2.ini
  24. will be preserved if they already exist.

  26. Once any old IRC/2 files have been cleaned up, a settings window will appear if 
  27. you have not already configured IRC/2.  Please review IRC2.INF for assistance.

  29. Once you have verified the information is correct, close the settings window. 
  30. A folder will be created on your desktop with an object to start IRC/2 and an 
  31. object to modify your setup.  You may use the IRC/2 icon (recommended) or 
  32. irc.cmd to start IRC/2.  If you wish to modify your IRC/2 configuration after
  33. the initial installation, please use the icon on your desktop or run SETUP.EXE.

  42. IRC/2.
